SHE was born and raised in Hartford, CT. I began to sing when I was two years old I couldn't finish a sentence but could finish a song from beginning to end. There wasn't a day that went by that there wasn't music in my mind and in my heart. I wasn't limited to one genre of music I listened to anything that had a beat. It wasn't until I was in high school that I began to think about performing in public. Just the thought gave me a rush. I sang the National Anthem for my high schools basketball games and I competed in their talent show, I even joined the school choir. Almost every day throughout the school year involved a least an hour of music and I loved it. When I was sixteen I competed in the West Hartford, CT YMCA's teen idol. Week after week they voted contestants off, I was so determined to at least get to the top three. I became sick during the competition and unless I sang the two songs, they would disqualify me. Being as determined as I was I sang the song while I had strep throat, I could barely sing cause of how much pain I was in but I wasn't going to be disqualified. I completed both songs in tears and made it through that round. I was the winner of the YMCA'S teen idol, but even then I felt that we were all winners. When I turned eighteen I flew to Las Vegas to audition for American Idol. Even knowing that the show focused more on people who had "the look" I still wanted to audition. The judges in the first stage of auditioning wouldn't even let you finish a sentence let alone a word before they said no and asked you to step back. They gave the ok for the people who made fools of themselves and I wasn't for it. I felt that if I was going to be discovered it would be for me. When I was eighteen I also performed as a special guest in Hartford, CT for a dance show. When I graduated high school in 2005 I moved to Stamford, CT and for the last five years I have been writing and recording in hopes that one day I will have the chance to share my gift with the world.
BERNARD JACKSON
Lead singer for the R&B group Surface, which popularized songs such as Shower me with your Love, Closer than Friends,Happy, The First Time and You Are My Everything is now turning his attention to Reggae music, Jackson, Reggae music is black music, it will never die, and you are never too old or too young to do it. For him,it's like " Full Circle " . Even before Jackson joined Surface, he had a fascination with reggae music and that saw him doing a reggae cover of Michael Jackson's hit single Billie Jean. In an interview with the Jamaica Observer Jackson shared that he never planned on doing a reggae project . . ."It just kinda happen naturally," he said. According to Jackson , his Brother Robert Fisher told him about Mike "Wagon" Jones who is from Jamaica and a reggae project he was working on by Eric Smith. As soon as I heard it said Jackson I loved it all and told my brother Robert to tell Mike Jones that if there's something I can do to help the project let me know. Bernard, Mike and Robert soon met and after listening to beats Bernard was fascinated and encouraged his new friend Mike Jones to do cover of Surface's first hit Happy. It was then that Mike Jones told him that he should be the one to do it! It was enthusiastic Jackson who talked about his love for the music.
FC APATRIDE UTD Football Club Apatride>(Stateless Football Club) was born in a ravaged country. They demonstrate that Reggae music is still a rebellious means of expression. This Marxist,Muslim and Serbian Football Club is anything but a mainstream product. Their sharp uncompromising reggae reminds us of some UK Jamaican bands of the early 80's, when reggae had a strong rock touch and catchy melodies. This militant trio achieved a remarkable success with their musical identity and uncompromising attitude and was therefore signed by a Parisian reggae label "Makasound" for whom they already released two albums,; "On the Frontline menu" (2006) and "Them" (2007). A year later the band released a 12" vinyl single "Rural" (2008) and "War Party" (2009) for UK label"Urban Sedated Records. According to cultural French magazine "The music of Fc Apatride Utd brings the renewal of reggae".Although often criticized by European media as being too militant. The band never ceases to continue with their rough style and sharp lyrics and managed to spread their message across the Atlantic where their third album "Firing the Truth" is being released by a US label"WAGON MUSIC WORKS" simultaneously with the UK release for"Urban Sedated rec".All sounds by Drums,Bass and Guitar".

Keri began her professional career as a dominant presence on the Jamaican North Coast hotel circuit, which later led to the release of her first song entitled, "Shine;" released by Dynamic Sounds in 1996 and a second single, "My Way" on the Boot Camp Label in 1999. Her tremendous talent, demonstrated by her inspired lyrics and good vocal range and versatility, plus the texture and quality of her voice, made her a producer's dream. F.C. Apartride UTD-Firing The Truth
Our first EVER Reggae That Matters review is from our favorite Serbian reggae band. We present to you: F.C. Apatride UTD's third release Firing The Truth. Almost a concept album, this disc opens with the beautiful crackle of thunder introducing a country blues atmosphere that keeps returning throughout the cd, without overshadowing the solid roots reggae sound, and brings the message to a dramatic finish. The addition of guest guitarist Jimi Triple B adds another layer to this true rebel music from a group of guys living In The Frontline.
